Before I get started on a piece of content, I always (well, most of the time) do this...
CREATE A CONTENT BRIEF (and get aligned on it with the key stakeholders)
Why?
Because without it you risk taking a 'stab-in-the-dark' approach to the article/ video/ newsletter/ white paper you're about to create.
Truly understanding the need and aligning with your key stakeholders is harder than you think!
If you've been in content marketing, copywriting or content creation for even a month, you've probably been in this situation...You get an ask to create a piece of content, it all sounds amazing, you go away and do it, you bring it back aaaaaand...it's not what was needed/expected.
FRUSTRATING 😐 Editing, rework and wasted time are what follows.
That's why a CONTENT BRIEF is absolutely crucial.
